Great Choice with Fantastic Value... November 3, 2008 When I bought this collection...I fully understood that most of these films were "duds". As someone who thinks Ed Wood is a genius...collections like this are a god-send to those of us who enjoy a "B" grade or less movie. The cost is fantastic as well & saves so much time from downloading the same titles from public domain film websites.
A SciFi Party! October 18, 2008 Yes, these are low-budget cheesoids AND they are older than your Grandpa's slippers..but at around 13 bucks each, how the hell can you go wrong with 50 movies!
Notwithstanding that there are no "special features" or commentary, but so what? Most of the people who made or starred in these movies are probably dead already anyways.
Low-priced and bulk-quantity, retro SciFi fans will have a blast with this hugh collection.
Great Pac if you like Classics September 23, 2008 Im not going to set here and type a review for every single movie but what I will say is Im over 50 and some of these movies I would set up and watch when I was just a pup. If you can get through the grain and like to see old sci-fi movies then this collection is a must for you. Enjoy
Poor collection September 5, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
A disclaimer: I haven't actually finished the set yet. And may never.
On the plus side, the reason for two stars, you get a LOT of movies for cheap.
On the negative side, it's a huge collection of One-star and Two-star movies, some of which are completely unwatchable. The Two-star films are few and far between, and I have lost hope of discovering a Three-Star movie in the set.
Additionally, not only are the films bad, but the presentation is very poor. No educational materials about these films or their histories. Many are NOT science fiction films. And the sound and picture quality is very low.
""CLASSIC"" in the sense of your ex-wife. August 29, 2008 Or my 1973 Chevy Vega... which I replaced with a 1975 Pinto... then a AMC Pacer... yeah! Classics all... though the cars WERE a little easier to SEE. Come to think of the aluminum-block in the Vega... the MOVIES do SOUND better!
