This 2-disk DVD set includes Rick's 16 favorite shows from his original TV series, first broadcast from 1995 to 1999. This product will be the only source of Rick Steves' TV shows prior to 2000, and this digipack, shrink-wrapped DVD set will be added to the current lineup of 8 Rick Steves DVD titles. There is no overlap in content. The 16 shows featured in this DVD will be launched on public television in September 2005 as a new "Rick Steves' Classics" TV series. The running time is 8 hours.

Timeless July 15, 2008
Don't be thrown by the the "1995 - 1999" in the title. These travel videos hold up over time and stay fresh through repeated viewings. Here's what you get:

I would have given this collection five stars, but several of these episodes have been released on other collections. There are a number of different Rick Steves video packages available; select them carefully to ensure you get what you want.
Great Travel Shows July 9, 2008
My family loves Rick Steves. We watched him whenever we could on PBS, but we always wanted more. I had ordered the complete collection of his 70 shows from 2000-2007, and I figured this collection would cover the rest. While we love this collection, most of these shows can be found on the larger collection, something I did not realized till I got it home. We still love it.
