Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Take Dead Aim is an exciting, wonderfully written novel about an event that could never, ever take place in today's world of professional golf. Or could it?During the final round of the LA Open, the caddie for Peter Brookes - the Number 1 golfer in the world and a hero in his native England - is shot and killed by a sniper in front of a national TV audience. Making the murder even more mysterious is the fact that the victim was standing next to Dexter Bradley, the young African-American golf sensation on the verge of becoming the most popular figure in the game. The question is was the caddie the real target? Or was it Bradley? Or Brookes?

5 out of 5 stars Harvey Pinnick Pairs Up With Tom Clancy   May 7, 2003
Sleeping Bear Press has done it again-- a great read from Don Wade who combines great, informed golf knowledge with a spy/intelligence thriller.

I read much golf fiction and non-fiction, and this is defintely at the top of the leader board. As others have commented, one doesn't have to be into golf nor suspense to like this one.

It twists and turns and keeps one attached to seeing it thru, that the whole Peter Brooks thing will end up.

I'm convinced Peter Brooks is truly Nick Faldo. Read this one!

5 out of 5 stars Great Read - Great Gift   August 8, 2002

I'm generally too distracted to read, but I was glued to this book. The author integrates an obviously advanced knowledge of golf and media production into a gripping story. The book would fascinate a serious golfer without losing the interest of a non-golfer.

The humor is sophisticated and understated as is the romance and the political questions the book raises. It is a perfect combination - easy to read ... and intelligent.

5 out of 5 stars Not just for golfers   July 7, 2002

Not being a golfer I thought this book would leave me bored. But I was wrong. It has so much going for it, murder, espionage, a little bit of sex and some very believable characters who I cared about. The relationship and inside workings of the CIA, MI6 and the IRA is enlightening. As for golf, I loved reading about how the TV puts on a golf tournament. Even the golf part helped to explain the intellectual side of the game. Most enjoyable.
